Trípode G5

Product Description

A tubular metal tripod forms a shape which vaguely recalls the sculptural forms of Seattle’s Space Needle. A large ribbon shade tops off the lamp.

The floor lamp of the moment!

Construction The Tripode comprises three tubular metal rods which are topped off with the GT5 shade. This lamp marked an exciting new departure in the Santa & Cole teams design language. The tripod has been chosen for a lamp base for its stability. This is why ancient cultures employed tripod structures and is also the reason they are used to mount delicate surveying and photographic equipment. Curiously enough, a tripod was also used as the base of the stool from which Apollo’s priestess delivered oracles at Delphi, the three prongs symbolising the sun. What could be more appropriate then, than to make a lamp whose tripod base not only provides outstanding stability but which also symbolises light itself? The shallow conical frame is cleverly covered with three-centimetre wide banded ribbons, woven from threads of the desired colour. This gives the light an intriguing striated effect.

Finish The lamp shade comes in three colours: red, black and white(raw ribbon), made from three centimetre wide ribbons.
