The first Anglepoise Lamp was designed in 1932 by British designer George Carwardine. Carwardine was developing car suspension systems and produced a mechanism which he thought would have applications in other fields. A task light being one of the first to be developed.

Anglepoise Lamps today remain true to Carwardine’s original design whilst incorporating modern features such as energy saving bulbs. Various options are available to ensure you find the right light for your application.
