Designed in 1960 by Arne Jacobsen, installed in libraries, reading rooms and studies ever since.
AJ-Lamps were part of the total design concept created for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. For the 50th anniversary of the launch of the AJ lighting family, five new colour variants have been introduced. The new colours are carefully chosen from an updated Arne Jacobsen colour concept.
A timeless classic.

Concept
AJ Table has a fixture head with a distinct asymmetrical shape, which determines the light characteristics of the fixture. The fixture head is tiltable. The base of the floor lamp has a hole, originally made to accommodate an ashtray. Without the ashtray, however, the hole adds elegance and lightness to the design. The unique quality of its design idiom has made these fixtures modern classics.
